This update includes fixes to some bugs that were discovered in the previous update. In case you missed it, Poiyomi Toon has been graduated to version 9.3. See the previous update patch notes for more info.

The Toon version is now available to download in our Discord server. Please test it out! As soon as we can confirm this version is bug-free, this will be the version released on the VCC, GitHub, and on BOOTH.

Changes

  • Fixed Override Two Pass Color always being active.
  • Added better defaults for Distortion UVs.
  • Fixed up some default settings with the Lil Fur shader.
  • Fixed AO and UV Tile Discard for Lil Fur.
  • Fixed Decal 3 having an extra Z field for position.
  • Fixed Panosphere UV being stereo incorrect when tiled.
  • Fixed Vertex Heightmap being removed when height was 0, but Audio Link actually made it not 0.
  • Proximity Color works with Lil Fur now.
  • Fixed Lil Fur incompatibility with d4rk Avatar Optimizer.
  • Proximity Color now properly hides Specular.
  • Audio Link Override now properly overrides Audio Link in all cases.

This is a major release!

Poiyomi Toon has been graduated to version 9.3 and introduces a new shading feature called Constellation, exclusive to Poiyomi Pro.

Toon

Changes

  • Added Lil Fur and Lil Fur Two Pass shaders.
    • The Lil Fur shaders are independent and do not stack with each other. This is vastly different from the Poiyomi Fur shader.
    • Please read more on how Lil Fur functions in Poiyomi Shaders on the Documentation page here.
  • All Documentation Links have been updated.
  • Fixed a bug when Decal was set to Back Only or Front Only, the Alpha Blend Mode still affected the other side of the mesh.

Pro

Changes

  • Includes all changes in Toon (see above).
  • Fixed Audio Link settings being broken in the Particle shader.
  • Added a Constellation module to Special FX.
    • Pro Only for now because it could be buggy.
    • Started with this lil Tutorial and played around.
  • TPS Changes by NoachiCode
    • Added a Toggle for two-sided rings.
    • Fixed light direction to work with all types of DPS lights.
    • Improved behavior when the Orifice moves past the penetrator
      • It will still try to go into the orifice instead of the current behavior, where it just gives up, which causes the penetrator to clip through things because it's no longer deforming or being affected by the hole
    • Redesigned the Bezier curve evaluation to use Bishop Frame instead of Frenet Frame for more stable normal calculation
      • This results in much smoother deformation and eliminates weird twist behavior

  • Added Lil Fur.
  • Fixed Fallback Cubemaps looking bad.
    • There was a bug that got introduced recently that made them look even worse. This should be resolved now.
  • Fixed Shadow Maps not functioning properly in Multilayer Math.
  • Added Normal Map sliders to each Lighting Layer within Multilayer Math.
  • Added Texture Intensity sliders for the Multilayer Math Shadow Color Textures.
  • Improved the look of Anisotropic specular slightly and split the show in Shadow and Light Direction attenuation.

Toon 9.2.79

Changes

  • Added a new UI element to RGBA Color Masking which allows you to select exactly which layers you can blend the Normals with.
  • Added a few more Texture Slots so people shouldn't run into the 64 texture crash as much.
  • Fixed Light Direction being completely broken for like 10 patches. 🙂
  • Fixed a bug with RGBA Masking Normal Blending where it was improperly blending with the selected normal layer.

  • New Drawers: FourFloatCurveDrawer, Ramp4Drawer, and ThryVector.
  • Several DataStructs additions.
  • Several updates to Helpers.

  • The 64 Texture crash should not happen as often now.
    • It will still happen it'll just be more your fault for actually enabling too many things instead of just updating to a newer version and crashing.
  • Small rework of the icons at the bottom of the material inspector.

Toon 9.2.76

Changes

  • Fixed a bug where random generation was causing weird patterns in things like Glitter.
  • Fixed duplicate properties showing up in Decal 3.
  • Updated Light Volumes includes to the newest release. No real changes though.
  • Added Documentation links to Uzumore.
  • Masking options are now under a central masking menu in Dissolve.
  • Fixed a bug with Vertex IDs not being read correctly.

Pro 9.3.46

Changes

  • Added Documentation links to ShatterWave and Geometric Dissolve.
  • Tessellated: I had to remove Vertex IDs from Tessellated shaders. I don't think this will cause any issues, but if you're part of the 0.001% using those shaders and notice anything, please let me know.

This update to the Shader contains some various improvements and bug fixes. The Toon version is now available in the VCC Repository, GitHub, and on BOOTH.

Toon 9.2.73

Changes

  • Removed 3 samplers from the shader so the shader won't go pink from hitting the cap.
  • Added links to the following new Docs pages:
    • Stochastic Sampling
    • Distortion UV
    • Local World UV
    • Panosphere UV
    • Polar UV
  • Added Anti Mesh Penetration feature in Vertex Options.
    • This pushes the mesh back when the camera gets too close, which stops you from seeing the inside of the mesh. Makes things a little more immersive.

Fixes

  • Dissolve Edge Hue Shift no longer Hue Shifts when the Hue Shift section is disabled.
  • Fixed enabling "Color Intensity to Alpha" causing Flipbooks to become tiled even if tiling was disabled.
  • Fixed a typo in Rim Lighting where Blend Mode "Normal" was written instead of "Replace."

Bug Fix Edition

This update fixes a few bugs that were found in the previous version and is recommended for all users. You can download it now from pro.poiyomi.com by logging in via your Patreon account.

  • Fixed a bug where Two Pass was breaking the entire UI.
  • Proximity Color now works with outlines.
    • Outlines are behind the mesh so it's not going to match perfectly.
  • Fixed bug with glitter and poiRand2 causing the shader to go pink.
  • BluWizard added a new UI for Dissolve.
  • Fixed a PBR texture not being properly removed when locking.
  • Fixed textures not being properly removed in vertex options.
  • Fixed height audio link not working when the shader locked.
